Step-by-Step Maldives Entry Process

Check your passport

Have a prepaid confirmed booking at a registered tourist facility in the Maldives.

Submit the Traveller Declaration

Within 96 hours before arrival, submit the Traveller Declaration electronically through the official IMUGA portal. The declaration is free.

Complete a declaration for every traveller

Each traveller, including children and minors, must have an individual Traveller Declaration.

Check whether Yellow Fever proof applies

A valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is required when applicable based on recent travel through a country with Yellow Fever transmission risk.

Travel with your supporting documents

Keep your passport, travel itinerary, return ticket, accommodation confirmation and other relevant entry documents accessible when travelling.

Complete immigration clearance on arrival

The tourist visa is granted on arrival after Maldives Immigration determines that you satisfy the entry requirements. Meeting the document requirements does not itself guarantee entry.
